First, let me tell you a little story about the time we had our second baby in Germany. My oldest two girls are almost a year apart and were both born in Germany. I went to be induced with our 2nd born and she came on Halloween! I was excited but I had huge mom guilt because I knew it was a chance I was going to still be in the hospital on my oldest first birthday. That's exactly what happened but I was released the morning of her birthday around 10 am! Our neighbors watched our oldest while my husband came to get me and our car broke down on the way home! It started slowing down and we pulled over and it shut off. In Germany, by September it is already cold so you know it was freezing when we were bringing our baby home in November. By the grace of God a tow truck was passing by and pulled over and backed in. But at that moment I realized I didn't have any extra blankets in the car besides the ones for the baby I packed for the hospital. We didn't have anything to keep the baby or ourselves warm. With that being said, the fall and winter months can be very dangerous so I am going to give you a list of everything I pack in my baby bag and my car.
What I pack in my Baby Bag
A change of clothes for all of my kids including socks
diapers
wipes
lotion
hand sanitizer
snacks
juices
toys
What I pack in my car
I keep a pack of juice and water
blankets
a bag for me with extra clothes and mommy products
Extra diapers
a foldable potty
trash bags and wipes
hand and body warmers
So I have a second baby bag in my car at all times. I hope that this blog is helpful because I want to make sure you know how to prepare for a baby in the winter months.
